Reading Time

Ever since I downloaded the Kindle App for my Droid I’ve become an avid reader. I love that I don’t have to lug around a book along with the rest of my stuff, all I need is my phone. So it’s time to start a new book. The last three books I read were wonderful.
The first eBook I ever read was “The Little Known” by Janice Daugharty :
This book was a period piece done in the 60’s just after integration in schools, but prior to Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.  This was the perfect read for Black History month. It’s written from the point of view of a 7th grade African American boy named Knot. It delves into his not so pleasant life, his dreams, and his wants for his people. Definitely read this is you’re interested in Black History.
The next two books were called “After the Leaves Fall” and “Summer Snow” by Nicole Baart:
This was a book I just couldn’t put down; it grabbed me hook, line, and sinker. This book takes place in modern day with references to Wal-Mart and Dora the Explorer. Julia is our heroine in the story and boy has she had a rough life and it just get’s rougher. And let me just warn you now, Nicole Baart ends her story on a cliff hanger so you have to buy “Summer Snow” to find out what happens to Julia but IT’S SO WORTH IT! I highly recommend these books.
So now it’s time to pick another book and the winner is “Cleopatra: A Life of Passion.” I really feel like reading a biography and I’m really interested in her. So here I go, I’ll let you know how it is.
